What is so special about Supa Excel?

Using a preparation method seldom seen in small animal feed, Supa Excel is an EXTRUDED PRODUCT. Unlike compound pellets, the use of the extrusion process means that the small amount of starch is cooked and is thus more easily digestible, therefore reducing the risk of overloading the caecum with starch. Extrusion cooking also kills naturally occurring bacteria and pests on raw materials and improves the palatability of the product. Extrusion cooking is how dog & cat foods are made.

Supa Excel can help prevent obesity when fed at the recommended amount as it is uniformly presented, preventing the common problem of selective feeding, especially when eating coarse mix.

Supa Excel comes in 3 different types of food:- Rabbit , Junior & Dwarf Rabbit/ Pregnant and Lactating Does, and Guinea Pig.

Supa Excel is made up of single component nuggets. Each nugget is nutritionally balanced, therefore rabbits get all of the nutrients they require without wasting any of the food and thus preventing selective feeding.

As a result the chances of rabbits/guinea pigs no longer receiving the correct levels of vitamins and minerals (particularly Vitamin D, Phosphorus and Calcium) are greatly reduced, reducing the chances of dental diseases.

PROFEED®, included in Supa Excel, is a source of specific short chained fructo-oligosaccharides which are an energy source for the high microflora population in the caecum. Promoting the beneficial bacteria in the intestinal tract, thus we are maintaining a normal balance of gut micro-organisms. Ensuring a healthy caecum, thus optimising the fermentation process enables the production of caecotrophs with a high nutrient content. This will result in an improved nutrient absorption and a healthy animal.
